The Studio

KAMA, like a comma, signals a pause—a moment to notice. We believe the built environment has the potential to deepen how we engage with the world. Through restraint, care, and detail, we aim to create work that draws attention without demanding it.

Through detail, proportion, and a reverence for the everyday we aim to create spaces and objects that invite pause, reflection, and connection. Kama Studios exists to craft environments that heighten awareness and elevate the ordinary into something memorable.

Kameron Selby is a licensed architect in Washington and Pennsylvania and the founder of KAMA Studios — where his work explores the intersection of architecture, landscape, and human connection.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest and educated in the desert Southwest, Kameron developed an early appreciation for the contrasts in environment, culture, and climate — and the role these differences play in shaping meaningful design. While in the Southwest, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Arizona State University before completing dual master’s degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Washington.

After graduation, he spent several years in Seattle working as an architect and co-teaching graduate studios and lecture courses at the University of Washington, before moving to Los Angeles. These varied landscapes and professional experiences continue to shape his approach, in which biophilic design, regionalism, and craft are recurring threads — grounded in a belief that mastery comes from understanding every detail of the process, whether in design work or personal pursuits like photography or pottery.
